We have officially moved on from Alliance Academy International and have joined the pastoral team at English Fellowship Church. With this came our second move from one apartment to another in the short span of twelve months! School is officially over and we are slowly setting up and settling into our new place.
As we unpack each box and set up each room I am realizing that there are also those unseen "boxes" we need to unpack and set up as we (as a family) enter into a new role and ministry. Though we are remaining in Quito, switching to a different role and ministry means that while we still get to keep the same friendships and relationships there will also be new ones made and even changes both slight and big to the current ones we have. There is also the unpacking of expectations both the known and subconscious ones. Half of the challenge of facing new endeavors is aligning our expectations with the actual reality. And then there's unpacking those fears, letting them out into the open so that we can face them head on.
Oh the unpacking never ends...
We are excited for this next chapter and look forward to the ways God will continue to use and direct us. But with that thrill also comes the fear of both the known and unknown challenges that awaits. Or maybe it's not so much fear, but just the unpleasant feeling of anticipating that (sometimes) seemingly impossible upward climb!
So I will end this with a quote from Helen Keller,
"Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all."
And we choose that daring adventure with the God of the universe! Bring it!
